Brazil may increase foreign ownership limit

Brazil could reportedly more than double the amount of foreign capital that can be invested in the country's airlines ahead of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics (Estado de S Paulo/Reuters, 20-Apr-2011). Lawmakers will reportedly likely amend a decree to include a clause allowing foreign investors to own up to a 49% in domestic airlines, from 20%. The decree is reportedly awaiting a vote before the lower house.
