Boeing to boost 737 production to 42 per month in 2014

Boeing announced (15-Jun-2011) it will increase the production rate for its B737NG family of aircraft to 42 per month in 1H2014. Once implemented, the B737NG programme expects to build nearly 500 aircraft each year. Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Jim Albaugh stated customers are demanding the aircraft at an unprecedented rate, and the market outlook for narrowbody aircraft is strong and growing. The B737 output is at 31.5 per month and expects to go to 35 per month in early 2012 and 38 per month in 2Q2013. [more]
