Boeing supports US airline consolidation

Boeing CEO, Jim McNerney, stated airline consolidation and mergers are good for Boeing, as it means stronger and more competitive customers (Crain's Chicago Business, 23-Apr-2010).

Boeing: "I think so long as the combinations rationalise and make the industry more efficient and allow the airlines to be more competitive globally, they make all kinds of sense, not only for them but for Boeing because it will strengthen our customer base. Delta and Northwest, when they got together, they surmounted some of the union issues and regulatory issues. I think that has emboldened others," Jim McNerney, CEO.
