Boeing starts building 777s at increased rate

Boeing announced (23-Oct-2012) it started building the first 777 at its 8.3 aircraft per month production rate, the highest ever for a Boeing widebody aircraft. The rate is a nearly 20% increase over the previous seven per month rate. 1049 777s are currently in service. 1380 have been ordered from 63 customers around the globe. [more - original PR]
