Boeing has no plans to cut B737 prices

Boeing commented it will not reduce list prices for the B737NG family to allow the aircraft to compete against rival narrowbodies fitted with next generation engines. Airbus plans to bring its A320neo into service by 2016, the same year that the new Irkut MS-21 and Comac C919 are due to enter commercial operation (Dow Jones, 01-Feb-2011). Boeing favours developing an all-new narowbody rather than refitting the B737 family with new engines. The manufacturer has estimated that a replacement aircraft could enter service around 2019 or 2020. Boeing sold 508 B737s in 2010.
