Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO focused on production rate increases, new aircraft development

Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Ray Conner said (09-Jul-2012) the company is seeing "levels of demonstrated performance that give us confidence in our ability to increase production rates and deliver on our promises to customers". By 1H2014, Boeing output will be 30% higher. Mr Connor said the right strategies are in place as the company moves toward new product development. Boeing has made "the right decisions when it comes to improving the 777 family" and confirmed the company will develop the 787-10X. Mr Connor reiterated the new 737 MAX is still targeted for first flight in 2016 with first delivery in 2017. [more - original PR]
