Boeing: 50 widebody freighters ordered in 2018 to date and more sales campaigns underway

Boeing VP marketing Randy Tinseth, via his official company blog, reported (21-Jun-2018) renewed strength in the air cargo sector, with growth in demand far outstripping the increase in capacity in 2017. Mr Tinseth noted that while capacity has been catching up with demand in 2018, the key metrics continue to show favourable conditions for cargo operators and the continuing positive momentum explains why many operators are looking to add freight capacity. Including a recent order from FedEx for 12 767Fs and 12 777Fs, Boeing has sold more than 50 widebody freighters in 2018, which is "about five times more than what we sold for all of 2017". Mr Tinesth said Boeing has "more sales activity in the pipeline as we talk with customers around the globe about Boeing's family of freighter solutions". These campaigns includes discussions for the 777F and 737-800BCF. [more - original PR]
