Construction of the new terminal at Blagoveshchensk Ignatyevo Airport began in 2023, under a concession agreement with private funding, and its opening was targeted for mid Feb-2026 according to Amur Oblast's Governor Vasily Orlov1. The airport also completed major runway and apron upgrades in recent years and has received significant federal and private investment for modernisation projects2 3.
