Birmingham Airport achieved its highest annual reduction in carbon emissions for a full operational year with an 8% decrease in 2024/25, supported by the installation of the UK's largest airside solar farm and maintaining Level 3 Airport Carbon Accreditation for three consecutive years1. It also completed a major high-mast LED lighting upgrade, projected to save 125,000 kWh of electricity and 26 tonnes of carbon per annum2.
