BEA discovers large pieces of wreckage from AF447

BEA, the French air accident investigation authority, confirmed it has discovered large pieces of the wreckage of Air France Flight AF447, an A330 that crashed into the Atlantic en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris in Jun-2009 (Bloomberg/AFP, 04-Apr-2011). The accident investigators confirmed it is still looking for the black boxes from the aircraft. The search has also found human remains. The search is being funded by Airbus and Air France and will concentrate on the aircraft black boxes. The French Government has promised to fund the "Phase 5" recovery procedure.
