German Aviation Association and France's National Federation of Commercial Aviation previously warned ReFuelEU’s mandatory SAF quota from 01-Jan-2025 would create avoidable competitive disadvantages for EU airlines and hubs, proposing ticket-surcharge models to spread SAF costs more neutrally and calling for extended and increased SAF allowances.1 2 German Aviation Association also urged Fit for 55 reforms, more SAF market support and reduced regulatory burdens, including book-and-claim.3 4
