BAA's emergency snow plan inadequate: CEO

BAA CEO Colin Matthews stated he felt "uncomfortably distressed about ruining people's Christmas" due to the disruptions caused by the Dec-2010 snowstorms, and stated that while BAA had an emergency snow plan, it only catered for 6cm of snow (Dow Jones, 01-Mar-2011). More than twice that amount was falling on an hourly basis during the Dec-2010 snowstorms. He stated it was important for both the airlines and operator to work together.
