B737 production decision to be made before year-end

Boeing stated it could decide before the end of the year whether to increase B737NG production to 40 per month by the end of the year (Renton Reporter, 03-Sep-2010). The manufacturer has already announced plans to increase output to 35 per month by 2012. Production is currently 31.5 aircraft per month.
