Azul, Embraer sign order for up to 50 E195-E2 aircraft

Azul formally signed (21-May-2015) an order with Embraer SA for 30 E195-E2 aircraft, which is valued USD3.2 billion at list prices. The contract includes an additional 20 purchase rights for the same model, bringing the total potential order up to 50 E195-E2s. Azul CEO David Neeleman said the new aircraft would provide "a savings on fuel burn more than 20% higher than the current model. That will be fundamental for maintaining our competitive fares and for growing in the domestic market." The first delivery is scheduled for 2Q2020. [more - original PR]
