Avolon says airline-owned lessor model 'continues to evolve'

Avolon head of Asia Pacific Simon Hanson, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (03-Mar-2016) the airline-owned lessor model "continues to evolve." Mr Hanson noted Avolon is an airline-owned lessor but "very independent," continuing: "Do we see a proliferation of leasing companies owned by airlines in China? Yes, but we see that as a result of the tax advantages from tax free havens." Mr Hanson added: "Airline-owned leasing companies will come and go. They're all at different positions in the market."
