Avolon: 'Our job as a lessor is to smooth out those periods of stress'

Avolon head of Asia Pacific Simon Hanson, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (03-Mar-2016) airline shutdowns "freak us out the most because they create uncertainty." Mr Hanson noted: "We had a number of situations last year with similar types, placing stress on [Boeing] 777s and A330s." Mr Hanson continued: "Our job as a lessor is to smooth out those periods of stress and place them," adding: "Other than that, this is probably as good as it gets… There's nothing really troubling me at the moment."
