Avianca Brazil joins Star Alliance network on 22-Jul-2015

Avianca Brazil joined (22-Jul-2015) the Star Alliance on 22-Jul-2015. CEO Mark Schwab commented: "Adding Avianca Brazil to our network is an important step... Brazil is the most important aviation market on the continent." Avianca Brazil adds 15 new destinations in Brazil to the existing 12 which the Star Alliance member carriers already served, for a total of 27. Avianca Brazil CEO Jose Efromovich said: "We are setting the future pace of our airline and close a two year process which saw us move to a new IT platform, review and update our internal processes and specific training programme for our employees." The carrier's 2.7 million Amigo FFP members now have access to Star Alliance's FFP benefits; Star Alliance's FFP members will be granted the same benefits when travelling with Avianca Brazil.
