Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann said it expected up to five Boeing 787-9s to transfer from Lufthansa from 1Q2026, plus five new 787s from end-2027, enabling replacement of remaining 767-300ERs and 777-200ERs by 2029 and growth to 12 long haul aircraft.1 COO Francesco Sciortino said no further 787-9s were due in 2025, while wet leases (including Braathens ATR 72-600s to Mar-2027 and airBaltic A220-300s in summers 2025-2027) supported capacity.2
