A recent survey by the Australian Airports Association and Zing Insights found that 78% of Australian travellers supported passport-less border processing, and 71% favoured digitising the incoming passenger card via an app. AAA CEO Simon Westaway noted that competitor airports in Singapore, Indonesia and New Zealand were already implementing advanced biometric and digital border systems, urging Australia to accelerate its own border modernisation efforts to remain competitive1.
