ATA airlines report 8% fall in Aug-2009 pax

Air Transport Association of America (ATA) reports (25-Sep-2009) the following system traffic highlights for its member airlines in Aug-2009:

• Passenger numbers: 47.9 million, -8.2% year-on-year;
  • Domestic: 41.1 million, -6.6%;
  • International: 6.8 million, -2.9%;
    • Trans-Atlantic: 2.7 million, -0.9%;
    • Latin America: 3.0 million, -5.1%;
    • Asia Pacific: 1.1 million, -1.7%;
• Load factor: 85.7%, +1.7 ppt;
  • Domestic: 86.1%, +1.7 ppt;
  • International: 85.0%, +1.7 ppt;
    • Trans-Atlantic: 86.6%, +2.5 ppts;
    • Latin America: 82.9%, +0.5 ppt;
    • Asia Pacific: 83.4%, +1.1 ppt. [more]
