ATA airlines report 2.8% fall in Dec-2009 pax

Air Transport Association of America (ATA) reports (26-Jan-2010) the following traffic highlights for its member airlines:

  • Dec-2009:
    • Passenger numbers: 41.9 million, -2.8% year-on-year;
      • Domestic: 36.2 million, -3.3%;
      • International: 5.7 million, +0.6%;
    • Load factor: 81.0%, +2.0 ppts;
      • Domestic: 80.6%, +0.7 ppt;
      • International: 82.0%, +4.7%;
        • Trans-Atlantic: 83.3%, +6.1 ppts;
        • Latin America: 78.2%, +2.4 ppts;
        • Asia Pacific: 84.4%, +4.8 ppts;
  • 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:
    • Passenger numbers: 519.0 million, -6.9%;
      • Domestic: 450.4 million, -7.2%;
      • International: 68.6 million, -4.6%;
        • Trans-Atlantic: 24.6 million, -5.0%;
        • Latin America: 32.2 million, -3.1%;
        • Asia Pacific: 11.8 million, -7.6%;
    • Load factor: 81.0%, +0.8 ppt;
      • Domestic: 81.9%, +1.4 ppt;
      • International: 79.3%, -0.3 ppt;
        • Trans-Atlantic: 80.1%, +0.8 ppt;
        • Latin America: 77.7%, -1.4 ppt;
