Asiana reports record traffic results in Jan-2010 and Feb-2010; bullish on Mar-2010 traffic

Asiana Airlines stated it broke its previous records in passenger and cargo transportation during the first two months of 2010, with a combined 1.7 million passengers, reflecting increased international demand and an economic recovery (Yonghap/Korea Herald, 07-Mar-2010). The carrier handled 876,000 passengers in Jan-2010, for the highest level since Aug-2009 (862,000 passengers) and 833,000 in Feb-2010, for the carrier's third highest monthly passenger total. The fourth week of Feb-2010, meanwhile, set a new weekly record, with 223,000 passengers, with a daily record on 21-Feb-2010 (34,000 passengers). The carrier added that it expects to see bullish demand this month, with reservations for the month already reaching 832,000.
