Anhui Airlines may be established by 2015

Anhui Provincial Government has reiterated its proposal to establish an "Anhui Airlines" during the nation's 12th Five-Year Plan which ends in 2015 (Carnoc.com, 28-Apr-2011). Hainan Airlines and Hefei City previously discussed the possibility of establishing Anhui Airlines. Anhui government is planning to increase the number of airlines based in the province from one, China Eastern Airlines, to three carriers with more than 20 aircraft operating in the region by 2015. China Eastern's Anhui operating base has a fleet of seven aircraft. The province also plans to construct three new civil airports, develop Hefei Airport into a hub airport for the central region as well as developing Huangshan Airport and Jiuhuashan Airport into tourist airports.
