American Airlines possible saviour for Mexicana

American Airlines has emerged as a possible saviour for Mexicana (Routes Online, 15-Apr-2011). American is reportedly set to join forces with TG Group, which had already expressed an interest in buying the grounded carrier and returning it to service. That proposal fell over when TG Group missed the deadline to complete the deal. The move would be logical for American as a carrier that has already confirmed its desire to expand its network.
