American Airlines antitrust bid does not violate pilots contract - report

American Airlines welcomed a decision by an independent arbitrator that its proposed joint-business agreement with British Airways and Iberia does not violate the terms of its contract with the Allied Pilots Association (Dallas Business Journal, 15-Oct-2009). The Allied Pilots Association expressed its disappointment with the ruling and reiterated its concern that the deal would result in pilot redundancies, as it "contains no provisions for protecting jobs".
