ALTA reports 14% rise in Dec-2009 pax numbers

Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) reports (17-Feb-2010) the following traffic highlights for its member airlines:

  • Dec-2009:
    • Passenger numbers: 11.7 million, +13.6% year-on-year;
    • Load factor: 73.7%, +3.3 ppts;
      • Domestic: 72.2%, +3.3 ppts;
      • Asia Pacific: 81.6%, +5.6 ppts;
      • Trans-Atlantic: 75.2%, +0.8 ppt;
      • Latin America: 73.9%, +6.2 ppts;
      • North America: 75.8%, +2.1 ppts.
  • 2009:
    • Passenger numbers: 123.5 million, +3.6% year-on-year;
      • Domestic: 83.7 million, +6.3%;
      • Asia Pacific: 368,981, -6.6%;
      • Trans-Atlantic: 2.9 million, +6.2%;
      • Latin America: 24.3 million, +0.6%;
      • North America: 11 million, -2.8%;
    • Load factor: 70.5%, -0.7 ppt;
      • Domestic: 67.7%, stable;
      • Asia Pacific: 76.5%, -2.3 ppts;
      • Trans-Atlantic: 75.9%, -0.2 ppt;
      • Latin America: 69.1%, -2.5 ppts;
      • North America: 74.7%, +0.6 ppt. [more]
