Allegiant has 'a very similar seat mile cost to Spirit, but we do it in a different way'

Allegiant Travel Company VP fleet and corporate finance Tom Doxey, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (04-Mar-2016) Allegiant has, "a very similar seat mile cost to Spirit, but we do it in a different way." Mr Doxey explained: "They fly 13 hours per day with newer aircraft to bigger cities - we fly half as much as Spirit but with the same cost. That is the secret at Allegiant - to have low cost and low utilisation at the same time."
