Allegaint tries to 'run our decision models based on a wide variety of fuel prices'
Allegiant Travel Company VP fleet and corporate finance Tom Doxey, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (04-Mar-2016) rather than "trying to pinpoint a fuel price where we would change our behaviour," the carrier tries to "run our decision models based on a wide variety of fuel prices." Mr Doxey added: "Really low fuel prices make used aircraft more attractive generally, lower fuel prices probably hurt our ability to a degree to bring in newer A320s - or new for us - and would incentivise us as it would to other aircraft to hold onto older generation aircraft for a little bit longer." Mr Doxey added: "It's certainly more challenging today than it was three years ago when we started into this [acquiring used A320 family aircraft]."
