AirTran revenue down 11.3% - financial highlights for the three months ended 30-Sep-2009:

  • Operating revenue: USD597.4 million, -11.3% year-on-year;
  • Operating costs: USD560.4 million, -22.2%;
    • Fuel: USD190.2 million, -47.7%;
    • Labour: USD122.9 million, +2.3%;
  • Operating profit: USD37.0 million, compared to a loss of USD47.4 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Net profit: USD10.4 million, compared to a loss of USD94.6 million in the previous corresponding period;
  • Passenger numbers: 6.5 million, -1.2%;
  • Passenger load factor: 83.8%, -0.8 ppt;
  • Average fare: USD81.04, -15.6%;
  • Yield per RPM: USD 10.24 cents, -15.2%;
  • Passenger revenue per ASM: USD 8.58 cents, -16.0%;
  • Total revenue per ASM: USD 9.68 cents, -10.5%;
  • Operating cost per ASM: USD 9.08 cents, -21.6%;
