Jordan's Amman Queen Alia International Airport stated (16-Jul-2012) Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian consortium responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion, and operation of the airport, has announced the selection of various preferred bidders to provide food and beverage (F&B) services at the airport's new terminal. The preferred bidders are: Al Shaya International Co. (Starbucks), Arab Food Catering Co. (Popeyes), Jordan American Food Company (Burger King), International Catering Services (Freeze Creamery), Kalha Restaurants, and Good Harvest Investment Company (Crumz Bakery Café). Additional preferred bidders for the services will be announced soon. The process to select F&B partners began in Jun-2011, and was open to submissions from both local and international providers. AIG's investment of USD750 million to construct the new terminal – in addition to USD100 million being invested on rehabilitating the terminals currently in use – is intended to develop Jordan's primary gateway as a regional niche hub.
