Airlines aim to increase revenue and efficiency, improve services using big data: SITA

SITA president Asia Pacific Ilya Gutlin, speaking at the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit, said (15-Nov-2016) the priorities of airlines in using big data are increasing revenue, improving operational efficiency and reducing costs and improving passenger service. Mr Gutlin noted airlines have a lot of passenger data, while airports struggle, and change management processes are needed to enable airlines and airports to make use of data. Mr Gutlin said data is not transformative on its own and needs to form part of a process.
