Airbus wins commitments for 115 aircraft at Farnborough
Airbus announced (12-Jul-2012) it won commitments for 115 aircraft worth USD16.9 billion at the Farnborough International Airshow this week. The commitments comprise MoUs for 61 aircraft worth USD5.8 billion and firm purchase orders for 54 aircraft worth around USD11.1 billion. Order highlights include:
- Cathay Pacific Airways: New order for 10 A350-1000 aircraft. Converted orders for 16 A350-900s to A350-1000s;
- CIT Group: 10 firm orders for the new upgraded 240 tonne take-off weight A330;
- Synergy Aerospace: Ordered six A330-200s plus three A330Fs;
- China Aircraft Leasing Company: MoU for 36 new A320 aircraft;
- Utair: Firm order for 21 A320s;
- Avolon: Commitment for 15 A320neo aircraft;
- Middle East Airlines: MoU for five A320neo and five A321neo aircraft plus eight options;
- Drukair: Order for one A319 with 'sharklets';
