Airbus outlined that a successor to the A320 Family is targeted for entry into service in the second half of the 2030s, with consultations with European airlines expected to begin in Feb-2026 to gather industry input on operational deployment of new aircraft technologies. The company aimed to achieve up to a 55% emissions reduction versus 2019 levels and is considering both hybrid electric and hydrogen-powered solutions for future platforms1 2.
