The PACIFIC project aligns with ongoing industry efforts to address non-CO2 emissions, particularly contrails, which significantly impact climate change. Recent advancements include large-scale contrail avoidance solutions by Thales and Amelia, which demonstrated significant CO2 equivalent reductions during test flights1. Additionally, GE Aerospace and NASA conducted flight tests to improve understanding of contrail behaviour, emphasising the importance of advanced measurement techniques, as highlighted in the PACIFIC project2.
