Airbus forecasts production of 800 A380s

Airbus CEO and President, Tom Enders, stated he expects the company to manufacture 800 "or more" A380s in the next 40-50 years and the aircraft will replace the B747 as the standard very large aircraft in global service (AFP, 27-Nov-2010). Airbus' latest 20-year outlook forecasts sales of 1318 very large aircraft by 2029. Boeing expects total sales of 720 very large aircraft over the same period.
