Airbus forecasts need for 1220 new aircraft in Russia and CIS in 20 years to 2037
Airbus stated (20-Nov-2018) Russia and CIS airlines will require 1220 new aircraft valued at USD175 billion in the 20 years to 2037, according to Airbus' Global Market Forecast. Details by segment:
- Small (narrowbody aircraft): 998 aircraft;
- Medium (smaller widebodies and longer range narrowbody aircraft): 140;
- Large (large aircraft including A350s): 39;
- Extra large (largest aircraft types including A350-1000 and the A380): 44.
The passenger fleet in the region is expected to increase from 857 aircraft in 2018 to 1700 aircraft in 2037. The increase will require more than 23,000 new pilots and 27,960 additional technical specialists.
