Airbus considers increasing A320 production

Airbus CEO, Tom Enders, stated the manufacturer adopted a tactic of overbooking production slots in recent years, allowing it to increase production marginally in 2009 and continue to increase production in the future (Bloomberg, 24-May-2010). In Mar-2010, the manufacturer announced plans to increase production rates for the A320 from 34 to 36 aircraft per month by the end of 2010. Mr Enders has also suggested that Airbus could raise A320 output to 38 aircraft per month, although the company will avoid a rapid production increase due to concerns about its supply chain.
