Airbus commercial aircraft revenue boosted by growth in deliveries in 2024

Airbus reported (20-Feb-2025) the following highlights for its commercial aircraft business for 2024:

  • Orders:
    • Gross orders: 878, compared to 2319 in 2023;
    • Net orders after cancellations: 826, compared to 2094 in 2023;
    • Order backlog: 8658 as of 31-Dec-2024;
  • Deliveries: 766, compared to 735 in 2023;
    • A220: 75;
    • A320 Family: 602;
    • A330: 32;
    • A350: 57;
    • Airbus aims to achieve around 820 commercial aircraft deliveries in 2025;
  • Revenue: EUR50.6 billion, +6% year-on-year, mainly reflecting the higher number of deliveries;
  • Adjusted EBIT: EUR5093 million, +5.7%. The positive impact from higher deliveries was partially reduced by investments for preparing the future;
  • A220: Continuing to target a production rate of 14 aircraft per month in 2026;
  • A320 Family: Continuing to ramp up towards 75 per month in 2027;
  • A330: Production stabilising at around four per month;
  • A350: Continuing to target 12 per month in 2028. Airbus adjusted the entry into service of the A350 freighter, which is now expected in 2H2027;
  • Supply chain challenges, notably with Spirit AeroSystems, are putting pressure on the ramp up of the A350 and the A220. [more - original PR]
