Airbus beats order target and sets new company delivery records

Airbus announced (17-Jan-2013) it delivered a company record of 588 aircraft to 89 customers (17 new) in 2012, up from 534 deliveries in 2012. Airbus' share of total aircraft sales by value (above 100 seats) in 2012, was 41% of gross and 41.5% net. Net orders reached 833 aircraft worth USD96 billion. It also exceeded its 2013 order target of 650, winning 914 gross orders. 2012 was the 11th year in a row of increased production by Airbus.

Airbus recruited 5000 employees in 2012 increasing the global employee figure to 59,000 and targets recruiting some 3000 in 2013 to support all programme developments. Airbus president and CEO Fabrice Bregier said the company is keeping our production rates at a "manageable pace, which is good for our supply chain, and bodes well for our long term profitability and bright future".
