AirAsia Group aiming to increase aircraft utilisation to 14 hours per day across all AOCs

AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes commented (24-May-2018) on the company's 2Q2018 outlook. "Our group load is seen to hold steady despite the added capacity, he said. Mr Fernandes added: "We will continue with our One AirAsia initiatives to further reduce costs... To name a few of these initiatives, we will actively reduce the loss making routes, whilst increasing the frequencies of the profitable sectors". The company will also focus on increasing aircraft utilisation across all AOCs to eventually reach 14 hours per day.
