Air travel in China to surpass North American traffic by end of decade

OAG stated air travel in China will overtake North America by the end of the decade as the largest air travel market (The Independent, 22-Jan-2011). Asia accounts for nearly one third of global air travel in Jan-2011, with more than 93 million seats available in the region. OAG added that China's share of those Asian seats is rapidly growing and it will not be long before the Chinese market alone outstrips the 74.5 million seats available within North America this month.
