Air Niugini planned to introduce eleven A220 aircraft as part of a Refleet Program, funded by multiple international agencies and lessors, with the first A220-300 scheduled to enter service in September 2025 and additional A220-100s to follow between 2026 and 2028, replacing Fokker and leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The programme also included the exit of leased Boeing 767-300s in 2026 and a review of potential 787-8 acquisitions1.
