Air Nigeria to suspend operations on 10-Sep-2012, aiming for service resumption within 12 months

Air Nigeria reportedly plans to suspend operations, effective 10-Sep-2012, with the carrier eliminating most employment positions as a result, according to a Vanguard report. Air Nigeria chairman Jimoh Ibrahim said approximately 50 staff would be retained and the airline plans to recommence operations within 12 months. Mr Ibrahim said, "we had to take this step in order to address the continued disloyalty of our staff…we need fresh blood and as soon as we have that in place the airline will resume operation."
