Air New Zealand previously warned engine availability constraints grounded up to six Airbus neo aircraft and up to four Boeing 787s, with disruption not expected to ease until early 2026 and further leasing options under review1. It dry leased three 777-300ERs and planned to wet lease a 777 from Wamos Air for peak summer 2025/26, while scheduling two 787-9 deliveries for Mar/Apr-20262. Air New Zealand later guided to an H1FY2026 loss before tax of NZD30 million to NZD55 million, citing weaker booking revenue and higher engine lease and CORSIA costs, while flagging additional capacity growth in H2FY20263.
