Brisbane Airport said New Zealand remained its top two‑way international market, with 1.3 million passengers in the 12 months to Mar-2026, and it welcomed both Jetstar and Air New Zealand launching Brisbane-Queenstown services in Jun-2026.1 Brisbane Airport also flagged Air New Zealand capacity growth from Mar-2026 to Oct-2026, adding 63,000 seats across Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington routes.2 Queenstown Airport reported FY2026 international movements exceeded one million for the first time, with total passenger movements expected at approximately 2.8 million.3 Qantas planned additional trans-Tasman peak summer 2026/27 capacity, including more than 15,000 extra seats from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to Queenstown.4
