The New Zealand Government recently allocated NZD30 million in concessionary loans and additional funding to support digital upgrades and interline capability for regional airlines, including Air Chathams. NZ Airports Association CEO Billie Moore stated that the investment would assist operators in addressing challenges from COVID-19, rising costs and less favourable finance terms, though she noted it would not resolve all issues facing regional carriers1.
