Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson stated the airline expected to receive six new widebody aircraft in 2026, including 787-9s and A350-1000s, and noted that the first line-fit 787-9 would enter service in Jan-2026, with significant customer experience upgrades anticipated in 2026. The carrier also planned to complete retrofits for its widebody fleet, with two retrofitted 787-8s returning in 1Q20261. Air India received its first line-fit 787-9 in early Jan-20262.
