Air India releases details of turnaround plan

Air India announced (10-Aug-2009) the following details of its turnaround plan:

  • Aircraft:
    • Early retirement of old aircraft, including leased aircraft;
    • Continued acquisition of new equipment, featuring "best-in-class passenger amenities";
  • Network:
    • Route network and capacity rationalisation;
    • Retiming flights to offer improved connectivity between domestic and international services;
  • Inflight product/service enhancements:
    • Improved on-time performance and "enhanced customer touch point experience";
  • Other activities:
