Air India earlier said it was preparing to launch international services from Varanasi under the Indian Government’s hub-and-spoke connectivity model, aiming to decentralise customs and immigration processing and reduce congestion at major airports.1 Air India also rolled out transfer-focused initiatives at its hubs, including the ‘Via’ campaign promoting two-hour Europe connections via Delhi and Mumbai, and ‘ZipAhead’ paid priority check-in and baggage services at Delhi and other metros.2 3
