Air France union: Airline could cut up to 3000 jobs

Air France union CGT stated the airline is considering job cuts of between 2500 and 3000, according to reports from Les Echos and Le Figaro. Air France-KLM plans to include new cuts in Air France's medium-haul business which is the main source of losses for the group along with freight. Air France plans to present an outline of its plans to unions on 31-Jul-2013 before a detailed presentation on 04-Oct-2013 for implementation beginning in 2014. The airline is already undergoing a restructuring programme, Transform 2015, which provides for the elimination of 5122 positions and 20% reduction in costs by the end of 2014.
